Our live-in support recognises you as an individual. It’s built entirely around your needs, your lifestyle and your routines.

Many customers look to live-in care as a solution which enables them to live independently whilst maintaining a necessary level of support. We pride ourselves of support for younger people. With Blue Ribbon having plenty of experiences of providing support for younger people. Nicola came to Blue Ribbon through her transition from residential college into adult services. Having found and adapted her own flat, Nicola initially tried support via a number of hourly calls throughout the day. It soon transpired that this did not really meet her expectations of independent living, as it meant relying on her family for extra support. So, she approached social services to assist in appointing a live-in provider.

Case Study

Support of younger people is undertaken by qualified support workers from Blue Ribbon Care. Jo has been Nicola’s main support worker since 2009 and it’s clear that it’s a partnership which works well. Whilst Jo keeps the flat clean and tidy, things such as meal planning are a joint-effort.

Being a similar age means that they both enjoy each other’s company and socialising. Having a driver is imperative to Nicola’s independence and they make frequent shopping trips or go to the cinema.

Together they often go and visit Nicola’s family in St Helens, with more recent excursions including ventures to Blackpool. Underpinning all of the social outcomes is Jo’s management of Nicola’s complex personal support needs.

So it’s great that we provide support for younger people as it is evident from the case study that there are younger people out there that need our care and support.

Case Study

Another case study of support for younger people is the story of Tracey. When Tracey began her Blue Ribbon journey back in 2005, she had no idea how much the care she received would change her life.

With an individualised service which incorporates both hourly and ‘live-in, live-out care’, Tracey’s care package is a great example of how Blue Ribbon provides a truly person-centred service.

Tracey’s objective is to lead an independent life with maximised choice and autonomy. She has a Blue Ribbon carer throughout the day who is on call at night and daily hourly support to help at key times. Whether it be shopping, socialising with friends or even a spontaneous trip to the pub, her Carers provide continuity of care and self-sufficiency which is second to none.

Tracey comments: “At this point in my life, I couldn’t imagine having it any other way. Without Blue Ribbon I couldn’t have returned to work, began studying for my second degree in Psychology or gained as much independence as I have from my family. I understand Carers have to maintain a professional relationship, but for me they are not just Carers, they are friends.”

At Blue Ribbon Care we are dedicated to providing support for younger people as well as offering care to older people. Every job undertaken by our Support Workers and Care Workers are done with the clients interests are paramount to the care and support being successful.
